Clicking on the Shape/Export points/Clipboard/Map units context menu item provides the means for exporting an individual shape to the system clipboard as a list of coordinates in the map units. The units are represented by decimal numbers. The first number is the longitude and the second is the latitude. The coordinates depend on the map coordinate system. To define the map coordinate system, use the Coordinate Systems feature.

To export a shape to the system clipboard as a list of coordinates in the map units

1. Activate (highlight) the layer containing the shape to be copied. Do this by clicking on its name in the Legend.
2. Click on the Shape/Edit shape menu item or equivalently on the icon on the Standard toolbar.
3. Within the Map area move the mouse pointer over the shape and click to make a selection.
4. Click on the Shape/Export points/Clipboard/Map units menu item.
