Clicking on the Select/Show Selected menu item makes the Map area display only the selected shapes. The visibility of layers other than the active vector layer is not affected in any way.

To make the Map area display only the desired shapes

1. Activate (highlight) the layer containing the desired shapes. Do this by clicking on its name in the Legend.
2. Use any of the following selection methods to select the shapes: Localize, Select by Point, Select by Line, Select by Polygon, Select by Circle, Select by Rectangle, Select by Line Free, Select by Clipboard, Select by Query, Select All.
3. Click on the Select/Show Selected menu item.

After selecting one or more shapes in the map area, clicking on the Select/Show Selected menu item causes all selected shape(s) to remain visible while simultaneously hiding all unselected shapes. The Show Selected action modifies only the display of the initially selected layer.

• To hide selected shapes (active layer) from the Map area, use the Hide Selected.
• To restore visibility of all shapes (active layer) on the Map area, use the Show all.
• To hide all shapes (active layer) on the Map area, use the Hide all.

• The Show Selected feature takes into account the current selection and not the successive ones.
