Clicking on the Layer/Remove menu item closes the active layer and removes it from the project. The layer is automatically removed from the list in the Legend and is no longer rendered on the Map area. This operation does not affect other open layers in any way.

To close a layer and remove it from the current project

1. Activate (highlight) the desired layer. Do this by clicking on its name in the Legend.
2. Click on the Layer/Remove menu item.

• The icon on the Standard toolbar.
• The Remove item in the Legend context menu.

• The Ctrl+Del key combination.
