Clicking on the Layer/Recalc extent menu item causes recalculation of the total extent of a vector layer. This functionality comes in handy when the total extent of a vector layer is too big or too small with respect to the shapes which belong to the layer. Such incorrect extent can cause performance drop or erroneous outcomes of certain operations.

To recalculate the total extent of a vector layer

1. Activate (highlight) the desired layer. Do this by clicking on its name in the Legend.
2. Click on the Layer/Recalc extent menu item.

• If the active layer is not a vector type layer this feature remains inactive.
