Clicking on the View/Render/Texture Mode menu item toggles on/off the texture mode in the Map area 3D Mode. The texture mode influences the way of displaying digital elevation models (DEMs/DTMs):

• in presence of a raster layer - if active, the raster layer is spread over the DEM; otherwise, a texture with isohypses is spread over the DEM.
• without the presence of a raster layer - if active, the DEM is displayed as it is, without any visual modifications; otherwise, a texture with isohypses is spread over the DEM.

To toggle on/off the texture mode in the Map area 3D Mode, click on the View/Render/Texture Mode menu item.
